FROM THE STAGE TO THE SCREEN TO THE RADIO!
EYE SPY
WITH MY LITTLE EYE SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH P.
A POETRY PARTY FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS!
On Wednesday 20 October at 1pm, RTÉ Radio will host
a Poetry Party with a live studio audience made up of children from primary schools throughout the country. Hosted by RTÉ
2fm's Full Irish presenter, Ryan Tubridy, this event promises to be the school outing with a difference - with surprise guests
and fun readings.
Other RTÉ personalities present on the day will include
Caroline Morahan, Dustin and Soky, and the gang from The Den. The 2004 Rose of Tralee, primary school teacher Orla O'Shea,
will be dropping by with some of the students she teaches in Swords, while Pop Idol finalist Brian
Ormond will read a poem about a little boy and his grandfather.
All the poems featured on the day can all be found in
Something Beginning With P, a collection of newly commissioned poetry for young readers, written exclusively by Irish poets.
Published by O'Brien Press and edited by Seamus Cashman,
this unique book contains previously unpublished poems from internationally acclaimed poets such as Seamus Heaney, Brendan
Kennelly, Paul Muldoon, Mary O'Malley, Máire Mhac an tSaoi and Nuala Ní Dhomhaill to name but a few. A gift of this carnival
of poetry was sent to every Irish primary school in Ireland, courtesy of RTÉ earlier this month.
Highlights of the Something Beginning With P poetry
party will be broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 on Sunday 31 October at 6.03pm.
The programme is produced by Ann Marie Power

PLEASE
FORGIVE ME!
Dearest Brian, family and fans
I cannot apologise enough for letting nearly 3 months
pass by without The Ormo getting updated. There are many reasons for this but I wont go into detail! lol. However
I want you all to know that I still support Brian 100% and I have not forgotten about you all. I think of and miss each and
every one of you. Fingers crossed, I should be updating and renewing the site over the next week, well that's what I 'm planning
anyway!
love you all,
Kirsty. (webmistress!)
